NOTICE: CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONER VACANCY

Civil service state laws help assure that law enforcement employees are recruited through open competition, hired and promoted on the basis of merit, and are demoted, suspended, removed from office, or discharged only for cause.

One of the primary mandates of the Garfield County Civil Service Commission is to recruit, test and determine eligibility of potential Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Communications Officers.

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking: Entry Level Sheriff’s Deputy; Lateral Sheriff’s Deputy; Full Time Communications Officer (Dispatch); Part Time Communications Officer (Dispatch).  

The Civil Service Commission is made up of three volunteer members appointed by the Garfield County Board of County Commissioners.

Civil Service Commissioners include: Kay Koller, June Dumbeck and Pat McGreevy.

The Garfield County Civil Service Commission meets the last Tuesday of every month at 1:00 pm in the Commissioner’s Room of the Garfield County Courthouse.
